Its purpose is to develop small business opportunities, promote successful outreach efforts, provide guidance and assistance to small business concerns, and attain small business goals.  The NRL strives to set-aside a fair percentage of contracts and subcontracts for small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned businesses, HUBZone small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, and other socially and economically disadvantaged groups.

As the Small Business Advocate for the NRL, I welcome the opportunity to assist all small business concerns and encourage their interest in participating in NRL acquisitions as prime contractors or subcontractors. As the liaison between the Small Business Administration and the NRL, it is my goal to actively seek out contracting opportunities for the small business community, with the support of procurement personnel and technical personnel at the NRL. By working together, this goal can be achieved.
